Rejuran (also known as Rejuran Healer or PN/PDRN skin booster) is a popular injectable skin rejuvenation treatment that originated in South Korea.

It uses highly purified polynucleotides (PN) or polydeoxyribonucleotides (PDRN) — short DNA fragments extracted from wild salmon sperm — to repair and regenerate skin at a cellular level.

Unlike traditional dermal fillers (which add volume) or Botox (which relaxes muscles), Rejuran acts as a biostimulator. It triggers your skin’s natural healing processes without adding significant volume, making it ideal for improving overall skin quality rather than contouring.

How Rejuran Works

The key ingredient, PN/PDRN, is highly biocompatible with human DNA. When injected into the dermis (the middle layer of the skin), it works through several mechanisms:

  • Stimulates fibroblasts (the cells that produce collagen and elastin) via activation of adenosine A2A receptors.

  • Promotes collagen and elastin synthesis, strengthening the extracellular matrix.

  • Enhances wound healing and tissue repair by increasing growth factors, improving microcirculation (angiogenesis via VEGF), and reducing inflammation.

  • Provides building blocks for new DNA synthesis and acts as a scaffold for cell growth.

  • Boosts hydration and skin barrier function over time.

Results develop gradually as your skin regenerates — you won’t see instant plumping, but rather progressive improvements in texture, firmness, and glow.

Main Benefits

Rejuran is commonly used for:

  • Improving skin elasticity and firmness (reducing fine lines and mild sagging).

  • Smoothing texture and reducing enlarged pores or acne scars.

  • Enhancing hydration and giving a “glass skin” glow.

  • Repairing damaged skin (e.g., from sun exposure, inflammation, or aging).

  • Evening skin tone and reducing redness or dullness.

  • Supporting overall skin healing and anti-inflammatory effects.

  • BioFiller is an autologous (patient’s own biology) volume restoration procedure that uses heat stabilised plasma gel and high-platelet dose platelet-rich plasma (PRP) to form injectate. The procedure is performed by a registered healthcare practitioner.

  • The heated, volume-stabilised plasma albumin gel provides immediate soft tissue volumisation and structural support that typically lasts 3–6 months. While the heating process denatures the plasma protein components, regenerative proteins from the non-heated platelet-rich plasma fraction remain bio-active. When combined; Biofiller offers both immediate volume restoration and ongoing regenerative benefits through the release of growth factors that stimulate collagen production, support overall tissue health and improve skin quality and appearance.

  • Biofiller is a non-surgical procedure with a low incidence of complications when performed according to Alocuro and the treating Doctor’s recommended protocols. Common ‘side effects’ may include redness, swelling, and bruising. Because Biofiller is an autologous product (derived from the patient’s own blood), risks associated with other non-surgical procedures - such as allergic reactions, rejection, granuloma formation, or Tyndall effect - are not expected. In the rare event of a vascular occlusion, all practitioners have received training in managing this event within their BioFiller training. All medical procedures carry potential risks, and individual outcomes may vary.

    • Avoid alcohol, aspirin, and NSAIDs for 48 hours before treatment to reduce bruising risk.

    • Hydrate well in the days leading up to the procedure, as plasma quality can be influenced by hydration status.

    • Eat a balanced diet – nutrient-dense foods support healthy platelets.

    • Refrain from smoking – smoking negatively affects circulation and healing.

Patients are advised that they will need a small blood draw (like a standard blood test), so those with a strong aversion to needles should prepare accordingly.

  • Patients typically notice immediate improvement due to the plasma gel. Unlike HA fillers, the volume is softer and more subtle.

    Normal post-procedure experiences include:

    • Mild redness or swelling at injection sites

    • Bruising (varies depending on area and individual)

    • Temporary tenderness

Patients are usually able to return to daily activities the same day, though strenuous exercise and alcohol should be avoided for 24–48 hours.

  • During the first two weeks:

    • Any swelling or bruising will settle.

    • Plasma gel integrates into tissue, providing natural-looking support.

    • Platelets release growth factors, starting the regenerative process.

Patients should be advised to avoid massaging the treated area unless directed, as this could affect product placement.

  • The most significant difference between Biofiller and traditional synthetic products is the ongoing improvement over time.

    • 2–4 weeks: Fibroblasts are activated, beginning collagen and elastin production.

    • 1–3 months: Skin quality improves, with increased elasticity and better texture.

    • 3–6 months: Angiogenesis (new blood vessel formation) supports healthier tissue, enhancing tone and resilience.

Results can last 6–12 months or more, with the regenerative benefits sometimes extending beyond the volumising effect.

  • Patients may benefit from a series of treatments depending on their goals:

    • Mild changes/early aging: One session may be sufficient.

    • Moderate volume loss or skin laxity: Two to three sessions, spaced 4–6 months apart, may provide optimal results.

    • Ongoing maintenance: Annual touch-ups are often recommended.

  • Ideal candidates:

    • Patients seeking natural, gradual improvements

    • Those with early-to-moderate signs of aging

    • Patients hesitant about synthetic fillers

    Not suitable for patients with:

    • Blood clotting disorders

    • Active infections at the treatment site

    • Severe systemic illness

    • Very advanced aging requiring surgical intervention

  • Yes. Biofiller can complement microneedling, PRP, or laser treatments for enhanced results.

  • No – Biofiller is naturally absorbed over time.
