Acne & Acne Scar Treatment

Affects of Acne

At some stage in our life we have all been affected by acne. It is characterised by plugged pores, black heads, white heads, pimples and cysts occurring on the face, neck, chest, shoulders, upper arms and back. However, acne is not restricted to any age group or gender. Adults even in their late 40’s can still experience acne, and it can have a significant impact on appearance, self-esteem and confidence.

Tackle Acne Head On

Unfortunately for some, long after the acne has subsided, our skin can still bear the scars. At ByronMediSpa we will work with you to tackle acne head on before it causes permanent scarring or leaves serious marks on your skin.

Personalised Treatment Plans

At ByronMediSpa, we will evaluate your acne condition and recommend the best treatment option for you using a combination of Mirodermabrasion, Laser treatments, Medical Grade Skin Peels and Dermapen3 MD.

Microdermabrasion is a great technique for deep pore cleansing, therefore a great treatment for acne, helping to remove bacteria formulation.

Medical Grade Laser treatment work by exciting compounds called porphyrins, which live inside acne bacteria. When the lasers excite the porphyrins, the porphyrins damage the bacteria wall, effectively killing the bacteria. Less acne bacteria helps to reduce symptoms of acne. Laser treatment may also reduce sebum (skin oil) levels. Laser also helps with scarring rejuvenation.

Medical Grade Peel.  Jessner is a medium depth peel which consists of three main ingredients: lactic acid (assists in the exfoliation of the skin), salicylic acid (aids in penetration), and resorcinol (assists in the treatment of acne). These ingredients work together to exfoliate the outer layers of skin by breaking up dead skin cells. It induces a superficial peeling of the skin and is particularly effective for oily and acne conditions. The salicylic deeply penetrates the skin and removes congested sebum and dead skin cells.

Dermapen3 MD is a micro needling medical grade device, which increases cellular turnover to reduce retention of hyperkeratosis (abnormal thickening of the outer layer of skin). It rebalances sebum production and increases Natural Moisture Factor (NMF) agents to promote skin shedding.

Dermapen3 MD is also used at a deeper level to improve acne scarring.

Together, we can work out a treatment plan to help restore your confidence and resolve subsequent scarring. Book in for a free no obligation consultation and let’s start the journey together!
